A p.s.

I think I was being a little maudlin tonight, and I was thinking, I was never a big Beatles fan, but there is one song they did that I can never get out of my head.  It is so fitting:

Songwriters: LENNON, JOHN WINSTON / MCCARTNEY, PAUL JAME
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

I was thinking that it took me 55 years to start to really care about the world around me.  Or I could say it took me that long to meet the people who would show me the world and how it is.  But like the song says, and as I believe, everything that came before had their purpose and meaning.  Probably to get me to where I am today.
